The European Ivy League (EIL) is the leading Business School Soccer Tournament in Europe. It is HHL’s largest student initiative with more than 20 HHL students organizing the event. Over the course of time, since its foundation back in 1997, the EIL has grown and increased its fan base every year and eventually reached a number of over 600 participants in 2011. In past events the EIL had the honor to welcome several famous patrons from the German soccer scene, such as Gerhard Mayer-Vorfelder, Jürgen Klinsmann and Rainer Calmund.
The formula of EIL’s success is its combination of sports, networking and entertainment. The cornerstone of the event is a thrilling soccer competition for men and women as well as a cheerleading contest. Additionally the EIL offers unique chances to expand business networks. Renowned companies such as BASF, PwC or Roland Berger have supported this event as sponsors and also participate in the soccer competition. The event therefore represents an excellent platform for exchange with company representatives. Last but not least the EIL is the homecoming of many Alumni, the welcoming of friends and simply the best party of the year.
The 16th edition of the EIL will take place from 18th - 20th May 2012 in Leipzig. We are looking forward to welcoming all participants, companies and guests in Leipzig for 3 amazing days full of soccer, business and fun.
